What are progress notes?
Progress notes are documents created by carers at the end of each visit. They are an essential part of a Client Personal File and are mandatory in case of an audit. It can also be used as a communication tool for staff and families.
Why do we write Progress Notes?
They act as proof of service delivery. They constitute a legal record. The notes link to the client’s care plan. They are an important piece of information during a client’s NDIS review. They are a great sharing tool.
Are Progress Notes mandatory?
Yes, keeping a record of the progress notes is mandatory. When making payment claims to the NDIS and to show your claims are correct you must maintain complete and accurate records of supports delivered to Scheme participants.
